The last in the series “Estrelas que brilham no tempo” (Stars that shine through time) was dedicated to Beatrice Tinsley. The 11 articles (in Portuguese) are available on the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA) website, remembering 13 important characters in the history of astronomy throughout the latest 100 years.
This was one of the initiatives with which IA joined the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), with public presentations I delivered at the monthly sessions Noites no Observatório (Nights at the Observatory) and articles I wrote in Portuguese.
Thank you to all the researchers at IA who helped with the selection (obviously many other important characters also deserved to have been highlighted), and in reviewing the texts.
Part of my work as science communicator and public information officer at Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA).
